Abstract

The article under consideration deals with the immanent analysis of „The Letters to Eternity” by V. Stus that has been compiled by his son Dmytro. Emphasis is placed on the availability to use the ontologically oriented approach during the immanent analysis. Such emblems as winter trees and a dream have been examined and a particular regularity, which is characteristic of these emblems and refers to the original sense of returning to the real life through death, has been found out. According to the main principle of the immanent philosophy, the surrounding world and people exist within their consciousness, but there is nothing to be found beyond the perception. The researcher focuses exclusively on the contents of the text, taking no consideration of biographical, historical contexts, etc. during the performance of the immanent analysis in the literary studies. The poetology is focused on the manifestation of Stus’s Word, which states that there is life after death; it is concentrated on the perception and understanding of this statement by his contemporaries and descendants. The idea claiming that the love is the fundamental principle of life, i.e. “the heart of the source” is consistently established in „The Letters to Eternity”. The ontological situation of the emergence of the aesthetic phenomenon version, which is created by a recipient while reading a dialogue, allows him or her to feel each motion of every single fibre of the poet’s soul. At the same time it proves conclusively that the poet realized the world view, world perception and world building (absolutely different from the context of its external material existence). The immanent analysis makes it possible to state that „The Letters to Eternity” is a completed utterance, a whole literary work, which displays a separate, but not isolated world characterized by elevated spirits, because the high way of thinking, stimulated by the grandeur of soul, is combined with ardent and exalted passion, as well as sophisticated means of artistic expression, capability to use a word as a tool of the spiritual refinement. This book contains all the sources that give impetus to the lofty style, thus strengthening and elevating Stus’s Word and encouraging the reader to foster genuine grandeur of the own soul.
