The nature of the artistry of poetry by Mykhailo Drai-Khmara.

Abstract

The article considers the theoretical aspects which are associated with the specifics of the artistry and the problems of the ration between semantics of the poetic text by Mykhaylo Drai-Hmara and out of text reality.

It is noted that in the author's texts of Michael Drai-Khmara there is a lack of internal predetermination of being in relation to its external reality. The dominant category of the elegiac contains catharsis, which has considerable potential. Poetic credo in poetry is aimed at the spiritual purification of man, the mechanisms for the realization of which are the motives of isolation, incompleteness of being, lack of freedom, a sense of hopelessness and defeat.

It is emphasized that the poetry of Mikhail Drai-Khmara expressively denied the futuristic tendencies in the Ukrainian poetry of his time, relying on the classical literary norm and rejecting the extremism of form. However, despite the departure from the fashionable literary tendencies, Mikhail Drai-Khmara was a full-fledged contemporary of his epoch in poetic works, addressing the most painful and topical issues of his time. The elegic and tragic moduses of the artistry of the works by the Ukrainian poet are being analyzed.
